أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «مَنْ وَجَدْتُمُوهُ وَقَعَ عَلَى بَهِيمَةٍ فَاقْتُلُوهُ وَاقْتُلُوا الْبَهِيمَةَ» فَقِيلَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَا شَأْنُ الْبَهِيمَةِ؟ قَالَ مَا سَمِعْتُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا وَلَكِنْ أَرَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَرِهَ أَنْ يُؤْكَلَ مِنْ لَحْمِهَا أَوْ يُنْتَفَعَ بِهَا وَقَدْ عَمِلَ بِهَا ذَلِكَ الْعَمَلَ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah said: “Whomever you find falling upon an animal, kill him and kill the animal.” It was said to Ibn ʿAbbās: “What is the case of the animal?” He said: “I did not hear anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about that, but I think the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked that its meat be eaten or that it be benefited from after that deed had been done with it.”
