أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ الْبَحْرَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ هُوَ ابْنُ هِلَالٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عُرْفُطَةَ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حُنَيْنٍ وَيُنْبَزُ قُرْقُورًا وَأَنَّهُ وَقَعَ بِجَارِيَةِ امْرَأَتِهِ فَرُفِعَ إِلَى النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ فَقَالَ

لَأَقْضِيَنَّ فِيكَ بِقَضِيَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنْ كَانَتْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَكَ جَلَدْتُكَ مِائَةً وَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَكَ رَجَمْتُكَ بِالْحِجَارَةِ» قَالَ فَكَانَتْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَهُ فَجَلَدَهُ مِائَةً قَالَ قَتَادَةُ فَكَتَبْتُ إِلَى حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيَّ بِهَذَا

✧ "I will judge between you with the judgment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: if she made her lawful to you, I will flog you one hundred lashes; and if she did not make her lawful to you, I will stone you with stones." He said: She had made her lawful to him, so he flogged him one hundred lashes. Qatada said: I wrote to Habib b. Salim and he wrote back to me with this.
