أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْبَرْقِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

أَتَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَاعِزِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فَاعْتَرَفَ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «اذْهَبُوا بِهِ ثُمَّ رُدُّوهُ» فَاعْتَرَفَ مَرَّتَيْنِ حَتَّى اعْتَرَفَ أَرْبَعًا فَقَالَ «اذْهَبُوا بِهِ فَارْجُمُوهُ»

✧ Ma'iz b. Malik was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he confessed twice. Then he said: 'Take him away, then bring him back.' He confessed twice more until he had confessed four times. Then he said: 'Take him away and stone him.'
