✧ I spent the night with my maternal aunt Maymunah bt. al-Harith, and the Prophet ﷺ stayed with her. I saw him rise for his need, then he came to the water-skin and loosened its tie, and performed ablution between two ablutions. Then he went to his bed and slept. Then he rose again, came to the water-skin, loosened its tie, and performed a thorough ablution, then he stood to pray. He used to say in his prostration: “O Allah, place light in my heart, and place light in my hearing, and place light in my sight, and place light below me and light above me, and light on my right and light on my left, and place light in front of me and light behind me, and grant me abundant light.” Then he slept until he snored, and Bilal came and woke him for the prayer.
