The burial shroud of the Prophet ﷺ and how many were used

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كُفِّنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابِ بِيضٍ يَمَانِيَةٍ كُرْسُفٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا قَمِيصٌ وَلَا عِمَامَةٌ قَالَ فَذُكِرَ لِعَائِشَةَ قَوْلُهُمْ فِي ثَوْبَيْنِ وَبُرْدٍ حِبَرَةٍ فَقَالَتْ «قَدِ اتِيَ بِالْبُرْدِ وَلَكِنَّهُمْ رُدُّوهُ وَلَمْ يُكَفِّنُوهُ فِيهِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was shrouded in three white Yemeni cotton garments, with no shirt and no turban among them. He said: The statement of those who said two garments and a striped cloak was mentioned to Aisha, and she said: “The cloak was brought, but they returned it and did not shroud him in it.”
