أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي اللَّيْثُ عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَرْجِسَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَمُوتُ وَعِنْدَهُ قَدَحٌ فِيهِ مَاءٌ يُدْخِلُ يَدَهُ فِي الْقَدَحِ يَمْسَحُ وَجْهَهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى سَكَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ»

✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was dying, and there was a bowl of water by him. He would put his hand into the bowl, wipe his face with the water, and then say: “O Allah, help me through the pangs of death.”
