الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأنا أَسْمَعُ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ
أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ سَهْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ وَمُحَيِّصَةَ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ خَرَجَا إِلَى خَيْبَرَ فَتَفَرَّقَا فِي حَوَائِجِهِمَا فَقُتِلَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَهْلٍ فَقَدِمَ مُحَيِّصَةُ فَأَتَى هُوَ وَأَخُوهُ حُوَيِّصَةُ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَهْلٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَهَبَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ لِيَتَكَلَّمَ؛ لِمَكَانِهِ مِنْ أَخِيهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كَبِّرْ كَبِّرْ» فَتَكَلَّمَ حُوَيِّصَةُ وَمُحَيِّصَةُ فَذَكَرَا شَأْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَحْلِفُونَ خَمْسِينَ يَمِينًا وَتَسْتَحِقُّونَ دَمَ صَاحِبِكُمْ أَوْ قَاتِلِكُمْ؟» قَالَ مَالِكٌ قَالَ يَحْيَى فَزَعَمَ بُشَيْرٌ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَدَاهُ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ خَالَفَهُمْ سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّائِيُّ

✧ He informed him that ‘Abd Allah b. Sahl al-Ansari and Muhayyisah b. Mas‘ud went out to Khaybar and separated for their needs, and ‘Abd Allah b. Sahl was killed. Muhayyisah returned, and he, his brother Huwayyisah, and ‘Abd al-Rahman b. Sahl came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. ‘Abd al-Rahman went to speak because of his relationship to his brother, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Let the eldest speak, let the eldest speak.” So Huwayyisah and Muhayyisah spoke and mentioned the matter of ‘Abd Allah b. Sahl. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them: “Will you swear fifty oaths and thus be entitled to the blood of your companion or your killer?” Malik said: Yahya said: Bushayr claimed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ paid the blood money himself. Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman said: Sa‘id b. ‘Ubayd al-Ta’i disagreed with them.
