أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِشَيْءٍ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى بِقِدْرٍ فِيهِ خَضِرَاتٌ مِنْ بُقُولٍ فَوَجَدَ بِهَا رِيحًا فَسَأَلَ فَأُخْبِرَ بِمَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْبُقُولِ فَقَالَ قَرِّبُوهَا إِلَى بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهُ كَانُوا مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ كَرِهَ أَكْلَهَا قَالَ «كُلْ فَإِنِّي أُنَاجِي مَنْ لَا تُنَاجِي»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought something—and once he said: a pot containing vegetables from herbs—and he noticed an odor from it. He asked, and was told what herbs were in it. He said, 'Bring it near to some of his companions who were with him.' When he saw it, he disliked eating it. He said, 'Eat, for I converse with one whom you do not converse with.'
