أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ صُدْرَانَ بَصْرِيٌّ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ الصَّوَّافُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرٌ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ امْسِكُوا عَلَيْكُمْ يَعْنِي أَمْوَالَكُمْ لَا تُعْمِرُوهَا فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ أَعْمَرَ شَيْئًا فَإِنَّهُ لِمَنْ أُعْمِرَهُ حَيَاتَهُ وَمَوْتَهُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “O company of the Anṣār, hold on to your properties—meaning your wealth—do not give them as ʿumrā, for whoever gives something as ʿumrā, it belongs to the one to whom it is given for his lifetime and his death.”
