✧ The virtue of giving charity to the deceased

أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الرَّقِّيُّ أَبُو يُوسُفَ الصَّيْدَلَانِيُّ عَنْ عِيسَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ

أَنَّهُ اسْتَفْتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي نَذْرٍ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّهِ فَتُوُفِّيَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقْضِيَهُ قَالَ «اقْضِهِ عَنْهَا»

✧ He sought a ruling from the Prophet ﷺ concerning a vow that was upon his mother, and she died before fulfilling it. He said, “Fulfill it on her behalf.”
