أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّبَيْدِيُّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ كَانَ رَجُلٌ يُدَايِنُ النَّاسَ وَكَانَ إِذَا رَأَى إِعْسَارَ الْمُعْسِرِ قَالَ لِفَتَاهُ تَجَاوَزْ عَنْهُ؛ لَعَلَّ اللهَ يَتَجَاوَزُ عَنَّا فَلَقِيَ اللهَ فَتَجَاوَزَ عَنْهُ

Translation

✧ He heard Abu Hurayrah say that the Prophet ﷺ said, “There was a man who used to lend money to people, and when he saw the hardship of a debtor, he said to his servant, ‘Overlook him; perhaps Allah will overlook us.’ Then he met Allah, and Allah overlooked him.”
