al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 6182

✧ Condition of a Sale: The condition is to say, "I will sell you this item for this amount for a month, and for this amount for two months.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ سَلَفٍ وَبَيْعٍ وَعَنْ شَرْطَيْنِ فِي بَيْعٍ وَاحِدٍ وَعَنْ بَيْعِ مَا لَيْسَ عِنْدَكَ وَعَنْ رِبْحِ مَا لَمْ يُضْمَنْ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  5. ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb from his father from his grandfather

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade a loan and a sale, two conditions in one sale, selling what you do not have, and profit from what is not guaranteed.
