أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا صَفْوَانَ بْنُ عُمَيْرَةَ قَالَ

بِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ ﷺ رَحْلَ سَرَاوِيلَ قَبْلَ الْهِجْرَةِ فَأَرْجَحَ لِي قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَحَدِيثُ سُفْيَانَ أَشْبَهُ بِالصَّوَابِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ

Translation

✧ I sold the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a saddle of sirwal before the Hijrah, and he tipped the scale in my favor. Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: The hadith of Sufyan is more likely correct than the hadith of Shu'bah.
