أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ

أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ وَعَامِرُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَبَا الْمِنْهَالِ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ وَزَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ فَقَالَا كُنَّا تَاجِرَيْنِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّرْفِ فَقَالَ «إِنْ كَانَ يَدًا بَيْدٍ فَلَا بَأْسَ وَإِنْ كَانَ نَسِيئَةً فَلَا يَصْلُحُ»

✧ Amr b. Dinar and Amir b. Mus'ab informed me that they heard Abu al-Minhal say: I asked al-Bara' b. 'Azib and Zayd b. Arqam, and they said: "We were two merchants during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about sarf (exchange). He said: 'If it is hand to hand, there is no harm; and if it is on credit, it is not proper.'"
