أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْغَافِرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

أَتَى بِلَالٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِتَمْرٍ بَرْنِيٍّ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا؟» فَقَالَ اشْتَرَيْتَهُ صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَوِّهْ عَيْنُ الرِّبَا لَا تَقْرَبْهُ»

✧ Bilal brought the Messenger of Allah ﷺ some barnī dates. He said, "What is this?" He replied, "I bought one sāʿ for two sāʿs." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Oh! That is the essence of ribā. Do not go near it."
