al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 5602

✧ Translation: Explanation and clarification that when a word is uttered with an intended meaning beyond its usual interpretation, it does not necessitate anything and does not establish a ruling.

أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ بَكَّارِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ هُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ وَأَبُو حَمْزَةَ اسْمُهُ دِينَارٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزِّنَادِ مِمَّا حَدَّثَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ مِمَّا ذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ

يُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «وَقَالَ انْظُرُوا كَيْفَ يَصْرِفُ اللهُ عَنِّي شَتْمَ قُرَيْشٍ وَلَعْنَهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ يَشْتِمُونَ مُذَمَّمًا وَيَلْعَنُونَ مُذَمَّمًا وَأنا مُحَمَّدٌ»

✧ He narrated to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said: See how Allah turns away from me the insult of Quraysh and their cursing. They insult Muzammam and curse Muzammam, but I am Muhammad.
