✧ Divorce without waiting period and what is counted against the divorcer from it

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ يُونُسَ هُوَ ابْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ رَجُلٌ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَقَالَ

أَتَعْرِفُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ فَإِنَّهُ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَأَتَى عُمَرُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَسَأَلَهُ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُرَاجِعَهَا ثُمَّ تَسْتَقْبِلُ عِدَّتَهَا قُلْتُ لَهُ إِذَا طَلَّقَ الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ أَتَعْتَدُّ بِتِلْكَ التَّطْلِيقَةِ؟ فَقَالَ «مَهْ أَوَإِنْ عَجَزَ وَاسْتَحْمَقَ»

✧ Do you know 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar? He divorced his wife while she was menstruating. 'Umar came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him, so he commanded him to take her back, then she begins her waiting period afresh. I said to him, 'If a man divorces his wife while she is menstruating, does she observe the waiting period for that divorce?' He said, 'What! Even if he was incapable or foolish?'
