أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ قَالَ

عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيَّ بَشَاشَةُ الْعُرْسِ فَقُلْتُ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ «كَمْ أَصْدَقْتَهَا؟» قَالَ زِنَةَ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ

✧ Abd al-Rahman b. Awf: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me with the cheerfulness of a wedding, so I said, “I have married a woman from the Ansar.” He said, “How much did you give her as dowry?” He said, “The weight of a date stone of gold.”
