al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 530

✧ The prohibition of distraction in prayer.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الِالْتِفَاتِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ «اخْتِلَاسٌ يَخْتَلِسُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ» خَالَفَهُ إِسْرَائِيلُ

Translation

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about turning around during the prayer. He said: “It is a snatching away that Satan steals from the prayer.” Israʾil contradicted him.
