✧ The encouragement for marriage.

أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ

لِابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ هَلْ لَكَ فِي فَتَاةٍ أُزَوِّجُكَهَا فَدَعَا عَبْدُ اللهِ عَلْقَمَةَ فَحَدَّثَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ الْبَاءَةَ فَلْيَتَزَوَّجْ فَإِنَّهُ أَغَضُّ لِلْبَصَرِ وَأَحْصَنُ لِلْفَرْجِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَلْيَصُمْ فَإِنَّ الصَّوْمَ لَهُ وِجَاءٌ»

✧ To Ibn Mas'ud: "Would you like a young woman whom I will marry to you?" So Abdullah called Alqamah and he narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever is able to marry, let him marry, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding chastity. And whoever is not able, let him fast, for fasting is a shield for him."
