أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَدَقَةَ الْحِمْصِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَهُوَ حَامِلٌ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ أُمَامَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي الْعَاصِي بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ وَأُمُّهَا زَيْنَبٌ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ إِذَا رَكَعَ وَضَعَهَا عَنْ عَاتِقِهِ وَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ سُجُودِهِ حَمَلَهَا عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ كَذَلِكَ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the prayer carrying Umamah bt. Abi al-ʿAsi b. al-Rabiʿ on his shoulder—her mother was Zaynab bt. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he bowed he put her down from his shoulder, and when he finished his prostration he carried her back on his shoulder. He continued like that until he completed his prayer.
