أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ
«أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِرَجُلٍ قَدْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَضَرَبَهُ بِالنِّعَالِ نَحْوًا مِنْ أَرْبَعِينَ» ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِهِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَصَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ أُتِيَ عُمَرُ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a man who had drunk wine, and he beat him with sandals, about forty lashes. Then Abu Bakr was brought him and did the same. Then 'Umar was brought him, and he mentioned something similar.
