✧ Prohibition of Beer Wine, Which Is a Drink Made from Barley

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَمِيعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ

قَالَ صَعْصَعَةُ بْنُ صُوحَانَ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ انْهَنَا يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَمَّا نَهَاكَ عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالْجِعَةِ»

✧ Sa'sa'a b. Suhan said to Ali b. Abi Talib: "Forbid us, O Commander of the Believers, from what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade you." He said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from gourds, hantam jars, and beer wine."
