أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَعْتَقَ عَبْدًا لَهُ عَنْ دُبُرٍ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُ «فَبَاعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْعَبْدَ بِثَمَانِمِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ وَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى مَوْلَاهُ»

✧ that a man among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ freed a slave of his by tadbir (arranging for his freedom after the owner's death), and he had no property besides him, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sold the slave for eight hundred dirhams and gave it to his master.
