al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 4934

✧ servant comes between two people, and one of them will free him, and the narrators differ in reporting the news of Abdullah b. Umar in that matter.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِرْكًا لَهُ فِي مَمْلُوكٍ فَكَانَ لَهُ مِنَ الْمَالِ مَا يَبْلُغُ ثَمَنَهُ بِقِيمَةِ الْعَدْلِ فَهُوَ عَتِيقٌ مِنْ مَالِهِ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever frees a share of his in a slave, and has wealth that reaches his price by fair valuation, then he is free from his wealth.”
