✧ Liberation of the child of adultery

أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الضَّنِّيِّ

عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ مَوْلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ سُئِلَ عَنْ وَلَدِ الزِّنَا قَالَ لَا خَيْرَ فِيهِ نَعْلَانِ أُجَاهِدُ أَوْ قَالَ أُجَهِّزُ بِهِمَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَعْتِقَ وَلَدَ الزِّنَا

✧ From Maymunah, the maidservant of the Prophet ﷺ, that the Prophet was asked about the child of adultery. He said: 'There is no good in it. Two sandals I strive for'—or he said 'I equip with'—'are more beloved to me than freeing the child of adultery.'
