أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ

يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لِرَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ أَنَا كُنْتُ أَعْلَمُ بِالْحَدِيثِ إِنَّمَا جَاءَ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَدِ اقْتَتَلَا فَقَالَ «إِنْ كَانَ هَذَا شَأْنَكُمْ فَلَا تُكْرُوا الْمَزَارِعَ» فَسَمِعَ قَوْلَهُ «لَا تُكْرُوا الْمَزَارِعَ»

✧ May Allah forgive Rafi' b. Khadij. I was more knowledgeable of the hadith. Two men from the Ansar came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after they had fought, and he said: If this is your concern, then do not rent farms. He heard his saying: Do not rent farms.
