أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَمِيلٌ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ عَنْ نُبَيْشَةَ قَالَ
ذَكَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ كُنَّا نَعْتِرُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ قَالَ اذْبَحُوا لِلَّهِ فِي أَيِّ شَهْرٍ مَا كَانَ وَبَرُّوا اللهَ وَأَطْعِمُوا
Translation

✧ He mentioned the Prophet ﷺ and said: "We used to perform ʿatīrah in the pre-Islamic era." He said: "Slaughter for Allah in whatever month it may be, and do good to Allah and feed others."
