✧ The Sacrifice of What Is Slaughtered

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ قَالَتْ

نَحَرْنَا فَرَسًا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ وَقَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ فَأَكَلْنَا لَحْمَهُ خَالَفَهُ عَبْدَةُ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Qutaybah b. Saʿīd And Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Yazīd
  2. Sufyān
  3. Hishām b. ʿUrwah
  4. Fāṭimah
  5. Asmāʾ

✧ We slaughtered a horse during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ and ate it. Qutaybah said in his narration, “and we ate its meat.” Abdah differed from him.
