✧ Permission to slaughter with wood

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ قَطَرِيٍّ وَاسْمُهُ مُرَيٌّ

عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أُرْسِلُ كَلْبِي فَيَأْخُذُ الصَّيْدَ فَلَا أَجِدُ مَا أَذْبَحُهُ بِهِ فَأَذْبَحُهُ بِالْمَرْوَةِ وَالْعَصَا؟ قَالَ «أَهْرِقِ الدَّمَ بِمَا شِئْتَ وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللهِ»

✧ From 'Adi b. Hatim: I said: “O Messenger of Allah, I send my dog and it catches the game, but I do not find anything to slaughter it with, so I slaughter it with a white flint or a stick.” He said: “Shed the blood with whatever you wish and mention the name of Allah.”
