أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ أَبُو الْحَكَمِ عَنْ جَبْرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

«وَعَدَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوَةَ الْهِنْدِ» فَإِنْ أُدْرِكْهَا أُنْفِقْ فِيهَا نَفْسِي وَمَالِي فَإِنْ قُتِلْتُ كُنْتُ مِنْ أَفْضَلِ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَإِنْ رَجَعْتُ فَأَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ الْمُحَرَّرُ

✧ “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ promised us a campaign to India. If I live to see it, I will spend myself and my wealth in it. If I am killed, I will be one of the best martyrs, and if I return, I am Abu Hurayrah the freed one.”
