أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنِ الْحَجَّاجُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ جَاءَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ مُسْرِعًا فَصَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَنُودِيَ فِي النَّاسِ أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ جَامِعَةٌ فَاجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ قَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي لَمْ أَدْعُكُمْ لِرَغْبَةٍ وَلَا لِرَهْبَةٍ نَزَلَتْ فِيكُمْ وَلَكِنَّ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ أَهْلِ فِلَسْطِينَ رَكِبُوا الْبَحْرَ فَقَذَفَتْهُمُ الرِّيحُ إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ مِنْ جَزَائِرِ الْبَحْرِ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِدَابَّةٍ أَشْعَرَ لَا يُدْرَى أَذَكَرٌ هُوَ أَمْ أُنْثَى؟ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ الشَّعْرِ فَقَالُوا مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ قَالُوا أَخْبِرِينَا قَالَتْ مَا أَنَا بِمُخْبِرَتِكُمْ وَلَا مُسْتَخْبِرَتِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ هَاهُنَا فِي الدَّيْرِ مَنْ هُوَ فَقِيرٌ إِلَى أَنْ يُخْبِرَكُمْ وَإِلَى أَنْ يَسْتَخْبِرَكُمْ فَأَتَوَا الدَّيْرَ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِرَجُلٍ ضَرِيرٍ مُصَفَّدٍ فِي الْحَدِيدِ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَنْتُمْ؟ قَالُوا نَحْنُ الْعَرَبُ قَالَ هَلْ بُعِثَ النَّبِيُّ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَهَلِ اتَّبَعَتْهُ الْعَرَبُ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ ذَاكَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتْ فَارِسُ؟ قَالُوا لَمْ يَظْهَرْ عَلَيْهَا بَعْدُ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ سَيَظْهَرُ عَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتْ عَيْنُ زُغَرٍ قَالُوا تَدْفُقُ مَلْأَى قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَتْ بُحَيْرَةُ الطَّبَرِيَّةِ؟ قَالُوا هِيَ تَدْفُقُ مَلْأَى قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَ نَخْلُ بَيْسَانَ؟ قَالُوا قَدْ أَطْعَمَ أَوَائِلُهُ فَوَثَبَ وَثْبَةً حَتَّى خَشِينَا أَنَّهُ يَنْفَلِتُ فَقُلْنَا مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ قَالَ أَنَا الدَّجَّالُ قَالَ أَمَا إِنِّي سَأَطَأُ الْأَرْضَ كُلَّهَا إِلَّا مَكَّةَ وَطَيْبَةَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «فَأَبْشِرُوا مَعْشَرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ هَذِهِ طَيْبَةُ لَا يَدْخُلُهَا»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ came one day in haste and ascended the pulpit, and it was announced among the people that the prayer was to be held in congregation, so the people gathered. He said: “O people, I have not called you out of desire or fear that has befallen you, but Tamīm al-Dārī informed me that some people from Palestine rode the sea and the wind cast them onto an island among the islands of the sea. There they came upon a hairy beast, and it could not be told whether it was male or female due to the abundance of its hair. They said: ‘Who are you?’ It said: ‘I am al-Jassāsah.’ They said: ‘Inform us.’ It said: ‘I am not going to inform you or ask you, but here in the monastery there is one who is eager to inform you and to ask you.’ So they went to the monastery and found a blind man fettered in iron. He said: ‘Who are you?’ They said: ‘We are Arabs.’ He said: ‘Has the Prophet been sent?’ They said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Have the Arabs followed him?’ They said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘That is better for them.’ Then he said: ‘What has Persia done?’ They said: ‘He has not yet prevailed over it.’ He said: ‘Indeed, he will prevail over it.’ Then he said: ‘What has the spring of Zughar done?’ They said: ‘It flows full.’ He said: ‘What has the Lake of Tiberias done?’ They said: ‘It flows full.’ He said: ‘What have the palm trees of Baysān done?’ They said: ‘Their early fruits have ripened.’ He leapt such a leap that we feared he would break loose. We said: ‘Who are you?’ He said: ‘I am the Dajjāl. Indeed I shall tread the entire earth except Makkah and Ṭaybah.’ The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘So rejoice, O assembly of Muslims, this is Ṭaybah; he will not enter it.’”
