✧ The obligation of standing at Arafah

أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يُونُسَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ يُعْرَفُ بِحَرْمِيٍّ بِطَرَسُوسَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ قَالَ

أَفَاضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ عَرَفَةَ وَأنا رَدِيفُهُ فَجَعَلَ يَكْبَحُ رَاحِلَتَهُ حَتَّى إِنَّ ذَفْرَاهَا لَتَكَادُ تُصِيبُ قَادِمَةَ الرَّحْلِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ وَالْوَقَارِ فَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ لَيْسَ فِي إِيضَاعِ الْإِبِلِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ departed from Arafah while I was riding behind him. He began pulling the reins of his mount, holding it back, until its head was almost touching the front of the saddle, and he was saying: "O you who believe, upon you is tranquility and dignity, for righteousness is not in making the camels run fast."
