أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ مَخْرَمَةَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَاتَ لَيْلَةً عِنْدَ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهِيَ خَالَتُهُ قَالَ فَاضْطَجَعْتُ فِي عَرْضِ الْوِسَادَةِ وَاضْطَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَهْلَهُ فِي طُولِهَا فَنَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى إِذَا انْتَصَفَ اللَّيْلُ أَوْ قَبْلَهُ بِقَلِيلٍ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ بِقَلِيلٍ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَعَلَ يَمْسَحُ النَّوْمَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ بِيَدِهِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ الْعَشَرَ الْآيَاتِ الْخَوَاتِمَ مِنْ سُورَةِ آلِ عِمْرَانَ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى شَنٍّ مُعَلَّقَةٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهَا فَأَحْسَنَ وُضُوءَهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُمْتُ فَصَنَعْتُ مِثْلَ الَّذِي صَنَعَ ثُمَّ ذَهَبْتُ فَقَعَدَتْ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى رَأْسِي فَأَخَذَ بِأُذُنِي الْيُمْنَى يَفْتِلُهَا فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ حَتَّى جَاءَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ

✧ He reported to him that he spent a night at Maymunah's, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, and she was his maternal aunt. He said: I lay down across the width of the cushion, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his family lay along its length. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ slept until midnight, or a little before it, or a little after it. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up and began wiping sleep from his face with his hand. Then he recited the final ten verses of Surah Al 'Imran. Then he went to a hanging water-skin and performed wudu from it, doing his wudu excellently. Then he stood to pray. Ibn Abbas said: So I got up and did as he had done, then I went and sat beside him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed his right hand on my head and took hold of my right ear, twisting it. He prayed two rak'ahs, then two, then two, then two, then two, then one (witr). Then he lay down until the muezzin came to him. He got up and prayed two brief rak'ahs, then went out and prayed the morning prayer.
