أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللهِ هُوَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَعَبْدَ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ يُحَدِّثَانِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ خَرَجَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ زَمَانَ نَزَلَ الْحَجَّاجُ بِابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنْ كَانَ بَيْنَهُمَا قِتَالٌ خِفْنَا أَنْ يَصُدُّوكَ عَنِ الْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ

لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ إِذًا أَصْنَعُ كَمَا صَنَعُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي قَدْ أَوْجَبْتُ عُمْرَةً حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِظَهْرِ الْبَيْدَاءِ قَالَ مَا شَأْنُ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَّا وَاحِدٌ أُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي قَدْ أَوْجَبْتُ حَجًّا مَعَ عُمْرَتِي وَأَهْدَى هَدْيًا اشْتَرَاهُ بِقُدَيْدٍ فَانْطَلَقَ فَقَدِمَ مَكَّةَ فَطَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ لَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ لَمْ يَنْحَرْ وَلَمْ يَحْلِقْ وَلَمْ يُقَصَّرْ وَلَمْ يَحْلِلْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ كَانَ أَحْرَمَ مِنْهُ حَتَّى كَانَ يَوْمُ النَّحْرِ فَنَحَرَ وَحَلَقَ وَرَأَى أَنْ قَدْ قَضَى طَوَافَهُ لِلْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ بِطَوَافِهِ الْأَوَّلِ قَالَ هَكَذَا صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

✧ You have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example, so I will do as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did. I call you to witness that I have made Umrah obligatory. When he was at the back of al-Bayda, he said: The matter of Hajj and Umrah is but one. I call you to witness that I have made Hajj obligatory along with my Umrah, and he brought a sacrificial animal he had bought at Qudayd. He departed and arrived in Makkah, performed tawaf of the House and of Safa and Marwah, and did not add to that. He did not slaughter, did not shave, did not shorten, and did not exit ihram from anything he had been in a state of ihram for, until the Day of Sacrifice. Then he slaughtered and shaved, and considered that he had fulfilled his tawaf for the Hajj and the Umrah with his first tawaf. He said: This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did.
