✧ If the prohibited person points to the prey, killing it is permissible.

أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ

عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُمْ بَعْضُهُمْ مُحْرِمٌ وَبَعْضُهُمْ لَيْسَ بِمُحْرِمٍ قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُ حِمَارًا وَحْشِيًّا فَرَكِبْتُ فَرَسِي وَأَخَذْتُ الرُّمْحَ فَاسْتَعَنْتُهُمْ فَأَبَوْا أَنْ يُعِينُونِي فَاخْتَلَسْتُ سَوْطًا مِنْ بَعْضُهُمْ وَشَدَدْتُ عَلَى الْحِمَارِ فَأَصَبْتُهُ فَأَكَلُوا مِنْهُ فَأَشْفَقُوا قَالَ فَسُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «هَلْ أَشَرْتُمْ أَوْ أَعَنْتُمْ؟» قَالُوا لَا قَالَ «فَكُلُوهُ»

✧ From his father, that they were on a journey, some of them in iḥrām and some not. He said: I saw a wild donkey, so I mounted my horse and took the spear. I sought their help, but they refused to help me. I snatched a whip from one of them and charged at the donkey, and I killed it. They ate from it and felt uneasy. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about that, and he said, “Did you point or assist?” They said: No. He said, “Then eat it.”
