al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 358

✧ Interpretation of the saying of Allah Almighty: {Guard strictly the prayers, especially the middle prayer} [Surah al-Baqarah: 238] and mentioning the differences in the middle prayer.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ قَالَ قُلْنَا لِعَبِيدَةَ سَلْ عَلِيًّا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى فَسَأَلَهُ؟ فَقَالَ كُنَّا نُرَاهَا الْفَجْرَ

فَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ «شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا»

✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ say on the Day of the Confederates: "They occupied us from the middle prayer, the Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and bellies with fire."
