أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَظْلَمَتِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدِيثُ مُؤَمَّلِ خَطَأٌ وَالصَّوَابُ حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever is killed defending against injustice done to him is a martyr." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: The hadith of Muammal is a mistake, and the correct version is the hadith of Abd al-Rahman.
