أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ قَالَ

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ حَتَّى تَوَفَّاهُ اللهُ ثُمَّ اعْتَكَفَ أَزْوَاجُهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe i'tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan until Allah took him; then his wives observed i'tikaf after him.
