أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَبِيتُ جُنُبًا فَأَتَاهُ بِلَالٌ فَآذَنَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَوَثَبَ فَصَبَّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وَرَأْسُهُ يَسِيلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ يَوْمَهُ ذَلِكَ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَرْسَلَهُ سَيَّارٌ فَرَوَاهُ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to spend the night in a state of major ritual impurity. Bilal would come to him and inform him of the prayer, so he would get up, pour water over his head, then go out with his head flowing from major ritual impurity, then fast that day. Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: Sayyar narrated it as mursal, from al-Sha'bi, from 'A'ishah.
