أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَهْبِ بْنِ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ مُصَرِّفٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

قَدِمَ أَعْرَابٌ مِنْ عُرَيْنَةَ إِلَى نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَسْلِمُوا فَاجْتَوَوَا الْمَدِينَةَ حَتَّى اصْفَرَّتْ أَلْوَانُهُمْ وَعَظُمَتْ بُطُونُهُمْ فَبَعَثَ بِهِمْ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى لِقَاحٍ لَهُ فَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَشْرَبُوا مِنْ أَلْبَانِهَا وَأَبْوَالِهَا حَتَّى صَحُّوا فَقَتَلُوا رُعَاتَهَا وَاسْتَاقُوا الْإِبِلَ فَبَعَثَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ فِي طَلَبِهِمْ فَأُتِيَ بِهِمْ فَقَطَعَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَرْجُلَهُمْ وَسَمَرَ أَعْيُنَهُمْ قَالَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ لِأَنَسٍ وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُهُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ بِكُفْرٍ أَوْ بِذَنْبٍ قَالَ بِكُفْرٍ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا قَالَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ غَيْرَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ مُصَرِّفٍ وَالصَّوَابُ عِنْدَنَا وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ مُرْسَلٌ

✧ Some Arabs from 'Uraynah came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and accepted Islam, but they found Madinah unhealthy, so their complexions turned yellow and their bellies became swollen. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ sent them to his milch camels and ordered them to drink from their milk and urine until they recovered. Then they killed the herdsmen and drove off the camels. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ sent [men] in search of them. They were brought back, and he cut off their hands and feet and branded their eyes with heated iron. 'Abd al-Malik said to Anas while he was narrating this hadith: "[Was it] for disbelief or for a sin?" He said: "For disbelief." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: We do not know anyone who said [it] from Yahya b. Sa'id from Anas b. Malik in this hadith other than Talhah b. Musarrif. The correct [version] in our view—and Allah knows best—is from Yahya b. Sa'id from Sa'id b. al-Musayyib, mursal.
