أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَبُو مُطِيعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَرْطَاةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَامِرٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَسُئِلَ عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ السَّبْتِ قَالَ سَلُوا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُسرٍ قَالَ فَسُئِلَ فَقَالَ «صِيَامُ يَوْمِ السَّبْتِ لَا لَكَ وَلَا عَلَيْكَ»

✧ I heard Thawban, the freed slave of the Prophet ﷺ, when he was asked about fasting on Saturday, he said: 'Ask Abdullah b. Busr.' He said: So he was asked, and he said: 'Fasting on Saturday is neither for you nor against you.'
