al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 2740

✧ How to fast for three days every month, and the mention of the discrepancy of the narrators of the news about that.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ هُنَيْدَةَ الْخُزَاعِيِّ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَأْمُرُ بِصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ أَوَّلَ خَمِيسٍ وَالِاثْنَيْنِ وَالِاثْنَيْنِ»

Translation

  1. Ibrāhīm b. Saʿīd al-Jawharī
  2. Muḥammad b. Fuḍayl
  3. al-Ḥasan b. ʿUbaydullāh
  4. Hunaydah al-Khuzāʿī from his mother
  5. Um Salamah

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command fasting three days: the first Thursday, and Monday, and Monday.
