أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ هَانِئِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كُنْتُ مُسَافِرًا فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَأْكُلُ وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ «هَلُمَّ» قُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ قَالَ «أَتَدْرِي مَا وَضَعَ اللهُ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ؟» قُلْتُ وَمَا وَضَعَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ قَالَ «الصَّوْمَ وَشَطْرَ الصَّلَاةِ»

Translation

✧ I was traveling and came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was eating and I was fasting. He said, “Come.” I said, “I am fasting.” He said, “Do you know what Allah has lifted from the traveler?” I said, “What has He lifted from the traveler?” He said, “The fast and half of the prayer.”
