al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 257

✧ The prohibition of the junub from reading the Quran.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ عَلِيًّا أَنَا وَرَجُلَانِ فَقَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْخَلَاءِ فَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ وَيَأْكُلُ مَعَنَا اللَّحْمُ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَحْجُبُهُ عَنِ الْقُرْآنِ شَيْءٌ لَيْسَ الْجَنَابَةَ»

"I came to 'Ali with two other men and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to come out of the toilet and recite Qur'an, and he would eat meat with us and nothing would prevent him from (reciting) Qur'an except Janabah." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 265)
