أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا مِنْ حَسَنَةٍ يَعْمَلُهَا ابْنُ آدَمَ إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُ عَشْرُ حَسَنَاتٍ إِلَى سَبْعِمِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ قَالَ اللهُ إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ فَإِنَّهُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ يَدَعُ شَهْوَتَهُ وَطَعَامَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ وَلِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ فَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ فِطْرِهِ وَفَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ لِقَاءِ رَبِّهِ وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ

Translation

✧ On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "No good deed that the son of Adam performs is not recorded for him as ten good deeds up to seven hundred times. Allah said: 'Except fasting, for it is for Me, and I give reward for it. He leaves his desire and his food for My sake. Fasting is a shield. The fasting person has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. And the change in the mouth odor of the fasting person is more fragrant to Allah than the scent of musk.'"
