أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الشَّهْرُ يَكُونُ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ وَيَكُونُ ثَلَاثِينَ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَصُومُوا وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ ثَلَاثِينَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The month may be twenty-nine, and it may be thirty. So when you see it, fast; and when you see it, break the fast. If it is obscured from you, then complete the number as thirty.'
