✧ Seeking refuge from the torment of the grave

أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاودَ عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ تَقُولُ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «فَذَكَرَ الْفِتْنَةَ الَّتِي يُفْتَنُ بِهِ الْمَرْءُ فِي قَبْرِهِ» فَلَمَّا ذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ ضَجَّ الْمُسْلِمُونَ ضَجَّةً حَالَتْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ أَنْ أَفْهَمَ كَلَامَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا سَكَنَتْ ضَجَّتُهُمْ قُلْتُ لِرَجُلٍ قَرِيبٍ مِنِّي أَيْ بَارَكَ اللهُ فِيكَ مَاذَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي آخِرِ قَوْلِهِ؟ قَالَ قَالَ «قَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ قَرِيبًا مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ»

✧ He heard Asma' bt. Abi Bakr saying: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up "and mentioned the trial with which a person is tested in his grave." When he mentioned that, the Muslims raised a clamor that prevented me from understanding the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When their clamor subsided, I said to a man near me: "May Allah bless you, what did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say at the end of his speech?" He said: "He said: 'It has been revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves with something close to the trial of the Dajjal.'"
