أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حُمَيْدًا وَهُوَ ابْنُ هِلَالٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ أُصِيبَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَأَصَابَ النَّاسُ جِرَاحَاتٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «احْفِرُوا وَأَوْسِعُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ فِي الْقَبْرِ وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا»

Translation

✧ On the day of Uhud, some Muslims were struck down and the people suffered wounds. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Dig and make wide, and bury two in a grave, and put first the one who knew the most Qur'an."
