أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَيَّةَ قَالَ

أُصِيبُ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَوْمَ الطَّائِفِ فَحُمِلَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «فَأَمَرَ أَنْ يُدْفَنَا حَيْثُ أُصِيبَا» وَكَانَ ابْنُ مُعَيَّةَ وُلِدَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

Translation

  4. a man Yuqāl Lah ʿUbaydullāh b. Muʿayyah

✧ Two Muslim men were struck down on the day of al-Ta'if, and they were carried to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he commanded that they be buried where they were struck down. Ibn Mu'ayya was born during the lifetime of the Messenger of God ﷺ.
